Traditional Jericallas (Mexican Baked Custard)

Jericallas are a classic dessert from Guadalajara, Jalisco. They have a silky, creamy custard base with a beautifully caramelized top, similar to crème brûlée but baked until lightly browned.

Servings: 8 individual cups

Ingredients

  • 1 liter (4 cups) whole milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 large eggs
  • Ground cinnamon for garnish (optional)
