Natural Herbal Tea for Kidney Stones: Recipe, Potential Benefits, and Important Safety Tips

Kidney stones can be extremely painful, leading many people to explore natural remedies alongside conventional treatment. Herbal ingredients such as Stone Breaker (Phyllanthus niruri)corn silkmoringa leaves, and ginger have long been used in traditional medicine to support urinary tract health. While some early research suggests certain herbs may help promote urinary health, there is no strong clinical evidence that this recipe can reliably dissolve or cure kidney stones. It should not replace medical evaluation or treatment.

If you have severe pain, fever, chills, vomiting, difficulty urinating, or blood in your urine, seek medical attention promptly, as these symptoms can indicate a stone causing obstruction or an infection.

  • Crushed ginger
  • 1.5 liters of water

Step 4: Boil

Reduce the heat and let it simmer for approximately 15 minutes.

Step 5: Cool

Remove the pot from the heat.

Allow the tea to cool until it reaches room temperature.

Step 6: Strain

Suggested Serving

Some traditional herbal practices recommend:

  • 60–120 mL (2–4 ounces) three times daily after meals.

However, there is no medically established dosage for this mixture, and it has not been proven in high-quality clinical trials to treat kidney stones. If you have kidney disease, take prescription medications, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have other medical conditions, consult your healthcare provider before using herbal remedies.
