# Soft Caramel Fudge
## Ingredients
• 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
• ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, cubed
• 1 can (397 g) sweetened condensed milk
• ¼ tsp salt
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
## Instructions
1. Line an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) square pan with parchment paper.
2. In a heavy-bottom saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sugar and cook, stirring constantly, until it turns a deep golden caramel.
3. Carefully stir in the sweetened condensed milk and salt. Cook while stirring continuously until the mixture is smooth and thick.
4. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
5. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
6. Let it cool completely, then refrigerate for 2–3 hours until firm.
7. Cut into squares and serve.
## Tips
• Stir continuously after adding the condensed milk to prevent burning.
• Use a heavy-bottomed saucepan for even cooking.
• Don’t overcook the caramel, or the fudge will become too hard.
• Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week at room temperature or 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
