Classic Root Beer Float

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle or can of chilled root beer
  • 2–3 large scoops vanilla ice cream
  • Whipped cream, optional
  • Maraschino cherry, optional

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Chill the root beer: Make sure the root beer is thoroughly chilled before assembling the float.
  2. Choose your glass: Use a tall chilled glass or a mason jar.
  3. Add the ice cream: Place 2–3 generous scoops of vanilla ice cream into the glass.
  4. Pour the root beer: Slowly pour the chilled root beer over the ice cream. Pour gradually because it will foam up quickly.
  5. Add more root beer: Once the foam settles, top off the glass with a little more root beer.
  6. Finish it: Add whipped cream and a cherry if desired.
  7. Serve immediately: Grab a straw and a long spoon, then enjoy the creamy ice cream melting into the fizzy root beer. 🍦🥤

Tip: For an extra-creamy float, let the ice cream soften for just a minute or two before adding the root beer. And yes… the best part is getting a little bit of fizzy root beer AND melted vanilla ice cream in every sip!
