Creamy Chocolate Swirl Dessert

  1. Make the custard mixture: In a medium saucepan, combine the cornstarch, sugar, and milk. Whisk thoroughly while the mixture is still cold to make sure there are no lumps.
  2. Cook the pudding: Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly with a whisk as the mixture heats. Continue cooking until it becomes thick and creamy, similar to a smooth pudding.
  3. Add the butter: Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the butter until completely melted and incorporated. The butter gives the dessert a wonderfully smooth and rich texture.
  4. Melt the chocolate: Place the chopped milk chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and melt it in short 15–20 second intervals, stirring between each interval. Continue until smooth. You can also melt it gently over a double boiler.
  5. Prepare the dessert: Pour most of the creamy pudding into a glass serving dish or individual dessert cups.
  6. Add the chocolate: Drizzle spoonfuls of the melted chocolate over the surface of the warm pudding.
  7. Create the swirls: Use a knife, skewer, or toothpick to gently swirl the chocolate through the pudding. Don’t mix it completely—you want to keep those beautiful chocolate ribbons visible.
  8. Chill: Allow the dessert to cool slightly at room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for at least 2–3 hours, or until completely chilled and set.
  9. Serve: Once cold and firm, spoon the creamy dessert into individual portions and serve. For an extra special presentation, add a little grated chocolate or a few chocolate shavings on top.

This dessert is wonderfully creamy with a delicate vanilla flavor and pockets of rich milk chocolate in every bite. It’s especially delicious served cold, making it a perfect make-ahead dessert for holidays and celebrations.

Tip: For an even richer chocolate flavor, you can replace the milk chocolate with semi-sweet or dark chocolate. For a beautiful Easter presentation, serve it in individual glass cups and decorate with chocolate curls or colorful sprinkles.
