I Hired an Actor to Teach My Ex-Husband a Lesson at Our Son’s Pool Party, and It Was Priceless

As the party progressed, laughter and splashes echoed around the pool.

Jordan and Percy were the center of attention, their hands intertwined, their smiles wide. My stomach twisted as I watched them flaunt their relationship in front of our friends and family.

“Look at them,” I muttered under my breath to Clark, who stood beside me, his presence a steadying force.

Clark leaned in closer, whispering, “You’re the one who’s winning today. Remember that.”

But I couldn’t shake off the weight in my chest. I overheard snippets of conversation from nearby guests.

“Did you hear she was pregnant when he cheated?”

“I can’t believe he brought her here!”

Each word felt like a dagger, twisting deeper. Anger surged through me, tinged with a fierce satisfaction at Jordan’s forced display of happiness.

“You know, he’s trying really hard,” Clark said, his tone both gentle and playful. “Look how much effort he’s putting into impressing everyone.”

I gave him half a smile. “Yeah, it’s entertaining.”

“Let’s give him a show of our own,” Clark suggested, his blue eyes sparkling. It was easy to get lost in his charm. “He’s regretting this decision, I promise.”

As the sun dipped lower, casting golden rays across the water, I felt a flicker of hope. Perhaps I could enjoy this day after all.

A wave of laughter erupted from the kids as they splashed in the pool.

Clark and I grabbed a couple of drinks, leaning against the back wall where we could watch everything unfold. I turned to him, my heart lighter than it had been all day.

“Can I ask you something?” I began, my voice steady. “Have you ever been in love with someone who broke your heart?”

His smile faded slightly, replaced by a thoughtful expression. “Once. It was brutal. I thought I’d never recover.”

“What happened?” I leaned in, genuinely curious.

“She left me for someone more… successful,” he replied, a spark of pain flashing across his face. “But I learned that when someone chooses to hurt you, it says more about them than it does about you.”

His words resonated, knitting our connection tighter. “That’s exactly how I feel.”

As we shared a laugh over a light-hearted joke about love gone wrong, I felt the tension ease, the burdens of betrayal beginning to lift.

But just as the moment felt perfect, I caught sight of Jordan storming over, an angry storm cloud on his face. “Who the hell are you?” he bellowed, his voice cutting through the chatter.

My heart raced. This wasn’t just any confrontation; this was the reckoning I had anticipated yet dreaded. I took a step forward, ready to defend Clark.

“He’s my boyfriend,” I declared, a defiant edge to my voice.

Jordan’s eyes narrowed, his fury palpable. “Don’t play games with me. I want to know who you really are!”

Clark straightened, his demeanor calm yet firm, ready to face the storm.

“Let’s discuss this,” he began, but the atmosphere shifted, thick with tension.
