1. Prepare the meatloaf mixture
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix gently until everything is evenly incorporated.
2. Shape the meatloaf
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish or lined baking sheet and shape it into a loaf.
3. Make the glaze
Mix the ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl. Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
4. Bake
Bake for approximately 45–60 minutes, depending on the thickness of the loaf. The center should reach 160°F (71°C) for ground beef.
Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
5. Make the mashed potatoes
While the meatloaf is cooking, place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a little salt.
Bring to a boil and cook for 15–20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.
Drain well, then return them to the warm pot. Add the butter and warm milk and mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper.
6. Make the gravy
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute.
Gradually whisk in the beef broth. Add the Worcestershire sauce and black pepper.
Simmer for 3–5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the gravy thickens.
7. Serve
Place a generous scoop of mashed potatoes on each plate. Add a thick slice of meatloaf and pour the warm gravy over everything.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
This is the ultimate cozy dinner—juicy meatloaf, creamy mashed potatoes, and plenty of rich gravy! 🍽️❤️
