Ingredients
For the Creamed Chipped Beef:
- 4 oz (115 g) dried chipped beef, thinly sliced
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup half-and-half or heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Pinch of nutmeg, optional
- Salt, only if needed
- 4–6 slices thick-cut bread or Texas toast
- Fresh parsley, optional
