Creamy Ranch Beef Bowtie Skillet

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Cook the bowtie pasta according to the package directions until al dente.
  • Drain and set aside.

Step 2: Brown the Beef

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground beef and cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking it into small crumbles.
  • Drain any excess grease.

Step 3: Season the Beef

  • Stir in the ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 4: Make the Creamy Sauce

  • Pour in the beef broth and milk.
  • Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 3–4 minutes.

Step 5: Add the Sour Cream

  • Reduce the heat to low.
  • Stir in the sour cream until the sauce is smooth and creamy.

Step 6: Melt the Cheese

  • Add 1½ cups of the shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Stir until completely melted and the sauce is thick and velvety.

Step 7: Combine with Pasta

  • Add the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet.
  • Toss gently until every piece of pasta is coated in the creamy sauce.

Step 8: Finish

  • Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of cheddar cheese over the top.
  • Cover the skillet for 2–3 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt.

Step 9: Serve

  • Garnish with chopped chives or parsley.
  • Serve hot with garlic bread or a crisp green salad.

Tips

  • Add sautéed mushrooms or spinach for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • For a little heat, stir in a pinch of red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños.
  • Substitute ground turkey or ground chicken for a lighter version.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently with a splash of milk to restore the creamy texture.
